When was country music created?

The first country music was created in the Appalachians mountain region when the first European immigrant settled there in the mid 18th century. They brought with them the ballads and children songs of the old country Later the folk music would turn into a new sound by using string instrument like the banjo and fiddle that became popular in the early 19th century, it was called hillbilly music, then later became known as country western music. Hillbilly music is the combination of Gospel and folk/dance music. It stayed mostly in the mountains and wasn't well known till the 1920's when fiddler John Carson was the first country singer to be recorded on record and became a instant hit. Not to long after the Carter Family from Virginia became very popular and made country music widespread and broke the rural circle that hillbilly music had stayed in for so long.
