William Shakespeare, great playwright, did not write in a font, because fonts were not used until computers were invented, well after his death.

His writing was prior to the creation of standardized fonts. However, many fonts have been made that imitate his handwriting.

It was his normal handwriting since he did not have a data processor or computer. However, his style of handwriting was different from the one we use nowadays. It was called "Secretary Hand". If you wanted to imitate Shakespeare's handwriting (or that of many of his contemporaries) you can find Secretary Hand Fonts for your computer.

Strangely enough, Shakespeare didn't have a computer. He wrote things out by hand. The name of the style of handwriting is called "secretary hand". You can have a look at it at the attached link.

When Shakespeare's plays were printed, they used another font altogether. Another attached link shows this kind of font. However, printers had a number of different fonts as printers do now, and this was only one of them.

Shakespeare was of course taught handwriting at school, and the particular style of handwriting that he used is called Secretary Hand or Secretary Script. It can be difficult to read for people who are not used to it, but it was a standard script at the time. It is possible to get Secretary Hand fonts for your computer if you want to know what it looks like.
