These are called Shakespeare's "lost years" between the time the twins were born and the time he shows up in London teatrical circles. During this period there is no documentation of any kind to suggest what he was doing during this time. Your guess is as good as anyone else's

At the beginning this period Shakespeare was at the height of his powers, writing his most powerful tragedies like Julius Caesar, Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello and King Lear, and his darker comedies such as Measure for Measure and All's Well, and Henry V. As the period went on, he prepared for retirement, writing more and more in tandem with John Fletcher, who was being groomed as his replacement. His last play was written in 1613.

Lots of things. He became a partner in the Lord Chamberlain's Men. Some of his plays were published. He wrote a bunch of them. He contributed to the cost of building a new theatre, and later to the cost of refurbishing a second one. His son died. His daughter married. His first grandchild was born. His theatre company changed patrons.
