W.D.O.U.J.I is an acronym for the band The Witch Doctors of Underground Jazz Improvisation said to be one of the most influential Filipino jazz band in the early part of this decade. They released two albums namely the KATHA award winning Ground Zero(2001) and Zen and The Art of Dressmaking(2005) before the band went into a indefinite hiatus citing personal and artistic differences. There has been talk of a third album but nothing has come to fruition up to this point. The members of the band are: Koko Bermejo (drums), Simon Tan (bass), Ronald Tomas (sax) and Aya Yuson (guitar).
Tuba The "Wagner Tuba" which is a smaller version of the tuba also known as the baritone horn. Wagner commissioned the famous instrument maker Adolphe Sax to make the instrument specifically for the purpose of illustrating the character of Hunding in the opera "The Valkyrie". Contrabass Trombone The contrabass trombone sounds an octave below the Tenor trombone. Wagner prefered it to the bass tuba using it alongside the tenor and bass trombones. It was definitely used in The Ring but I am not sure where else it was used.
