It is notated in 4/4 or 2/2 time and is of moderate tempo, in the structure of the binary form. It has an anacrusis. Typical instruments include the string family (violin, viola, cello, double bass), and also oboes, flutes and bassoons. Solos were usually played with the harpsichord.
