Fiddler on the Roof is a story about traditions and how sometimes in order to be happy, traditions have to be bent or broken. This is an excellent movie to watch to see how even those set in their ways can change their minds if it benefits their family.

The matinee performances of "Fiddler on the Roof" on Broadway typically start at 2:00 PM and run for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including an intermission. Therefore, the matinee usually ends around 4:30 PM. However, it's always a good idea to check the specific schedule for the day you plan to attend, as times may vary.
I think Zero Mostel first played him on the stage. When the movie was made he was unavailable, so the role went to the Israeli actor who goes by the name of Topol. Not much good with musicals, so you may wish to verify.
Because he played the part on stageActually, that answer would not be right (answer above). There has to be an explanation for why he was a good part. He had good looks? He had acting skills? He, himself, was Jewish like his character? You need to look beyond the skin to find the flesh. Finding interesting qualities about him might lead you to the answer to this question. Furthermore, I disagree with the answer above, given by someone else.
This is a play about tradition. Tevye, the lead character, says that without their traditions, the villagers are as shaky as a fiddler on the roof, meaning that if you play the fiddle on the rooftops, you're likely to slip and fall off! Tevye is a milkman with five daughters, and is trying to follow tradition and marry them to good husbands. The oldest one is promised to the butcher, who's Tevye's age -- but she is in love with the tailor, who is her age. Tevye agrees to go against tradition and let them get married. The next daughter falls in love with a revolutionary-minded student and they get married without his permission. He eventually accepts this break from tradition. The third daughter falls in love with a Christian, and he does not forgive her for that after she runs away with him, but at the end of the play, there is hope that he might give in at last. The background of the story is the Russian revolution, and the time of persecution of the Jews in Russia.

Matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof or Put on your Sunday Clothes from Hello Dolly. Try not to use anything from Annie, casting directors have seen that millions of times.
That song comes form an old musical , Fiddler on the Roof if iam not mistaken. from 1970 71? it was a remake of a famous Broadway musical produced by Norman Jewison. That's all i can remember. I think you should. I like it, but that's my opinion. There is no reason why you should not watch this programme, after all it is a Disney Channel family show. If you like it watch it.
