I am not much of an expert at this, but i know why imagery is used
It is used to get the readers head deep down in the story and actually get the picture of what happening as if the reader is watching a movie.
Example - The lady had short black hair, natural pink cheeks, rose lips, and a pale, white face.
That would give you a picture of a bright, beautiful and cheerful woman, it may even give you a picture of Snow White
And that, My Friend, is why imagery is used
It keeps the story more interesting, and more to life...
I hope this had helped you...

There are seven different types of imagery used by adding vivid and descriptive language to a story. Two types of imagery are visual and olfactory.
Two forms of imagery used by writers are visual imagery, which appeals to the sense of sight by describing how something looks, and auditory imagery, which appeals to the sense of hearing by describing sounds. Writers use these forms of imagery to create vivid sensory experiences for the reader.
imagery is related to sound
Imagery typically appeals to the sense of sight to create vivid mental pictures for the reader. Other senses, such as hearing, touch, taste, and smell, can also be used to enhance the overall sensory experience in imagery.
The imagery used in "The Tyger" suggests that the tiger could be a force of enlightenment. The poem was written by William Blake.
The right name is Kinesthetic Imagery which is used in literature to describe movement and physical tension. For example Ghost House- "the black bats tumble and dart" Kinetic Imagery is the wrong term being used.
Imagery is used in writing to create vivid mental images by appealing to the senses of the reader. It helps to evoke emotions, enhance the mood of the text, and make the writing more engaging and memorable. By painting a picture with words, imagery allows readers to connect to the text on a deeper level.
