Rhyme and metre were evolved through generations and centuries to facilitate the easeness of creating poems and to ensure their permanence and endurance as inspiration and a correcting force for the coming generations. Observing them has been the undeviating tradition of poetry-writing mankind. So poems strictly adhering to these good and time-tested rhymes and metres are traditional. Those which are carelessly created without regard to serve as beacons to future generations are free verse. Though there indeed have been many beautiful free verse creations, many consider them to be unfinished incapabilities.

What is the difference between myths and historical facts about the Trojan War?

We don't have any real historical facts of the Trojan war. It is legendary (that is a traditional story, held to be true) with the mythical insertions of gods and goddesses. As the story is a mix of oral tradition from the various versions sung by the bards over hundreds of years, plus other sources (much later poetry, pottery and allusions), whatever facts reside in the stories are undetectable. Archaeology has done little to help out.
