Being an old man he also needs love and affection which the grand children are not giving him this shows that there is a generation gap.the other point is that the human race is damaging the enviornment and little habitats of small species which is terrible and terrifying and this poem shows us that the children are not loving the grand dad when he expects love and respect from his younger generation. this poem also shows us that at the end the poor rabbit unaware that he is prey sits in the middle of the forest telling us how cruel human race is to the enviornment and living life.
