The Rabbit Dance is a social, and humorous dance of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. It was learned from the Cree Indians in about 1920. The dance similarly resembles a White American folk dance or "square dance." The steps in the dance are in accordance with a "calling" by one of the drummers. Men and women dance in couples side by side, and women choose their dance partner. Today, the Rabbit Dance is not practiced due to the popularity of other pan-Indian social dances such as the Pow-wow.your welcome =]

The rabbit in The Velveteen Rabbit is just called "Rabbit"; it has no other name.
Usually, if the rabbit is a male, this is a kind of mating ritual, especially if the grunting is likened to a "buzzing" sound. However, it is most likely, in females or neutered animals, that this is a "Dance of Love" and the little rabbit is simply telling you how much he likes you, or expressing its feelings for you. If the grunt sounds more like a bark or growl, it probably means the rabbit is angry. See the related link below for more info about rabbit communication and body language.
This is called the Dance of Love. Bunnies show affection this way, and they signal that they are happy to see you. You might even get a few affectionate nips! For more information about rabbit communication, body language, and behaviour, see the related link below.
