In Antigone there is a reference to Cleopatra during her final scene.
Stories about Antigone and about Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi [October 2, 1869-January 30, 1948] are related in their theme of nonviolent, civil disobedience of unfair, unjust laws. The mythological Antigone and the historical Gandhi refused to honor what they perceived as inhumane laws. Gandhi led protests such as boycotts. Antigone went ahead and did what she wasn't supposed to do by law: give her brother Polyneices a proper burial.
It is Oedipus who kills his father and marries his mother in "Antigone" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, the actions actually do not take place in the above-mentioned play. Instead, they occur as back-stories during the course of "Oedipus Rex." The latter play describes the rise and fall of Antigone's father, disgraced Theban King Oedipus. The former covers what happens to Oedipus' children.
Yes, actual equivalents of the play 'Antigone' may be found in real life. In any place and at any time that individuals hold fast to their beliefs, the equivalents of Antigone may be found. All changes and all challenges to the inhumanity of government or of a majority to an individual or a minority come about because of individuals such as Antigone who come to the assistance of those who face injustice and can't defend themselves. For example, in the play, Antigone defends the disloyal Theban dead. They don't stop being Theban or being loved with death. But in death they rely on the living to make sure that they receive the proper preparation for proper reception into the underworld realm of the dead.
Antigone goes with Oedipus when he is exiled from Thebes in "Oedipus at Colonus" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Theban Princess Antigone accompanies her father, King Oedipus, into exile from Thebes. Many of the ancient stories have variant versions. According to other versions, Ismeneaccompanies her father and sister.
Much theatre evolved from dance and story. The Greeks had Choruses through which stories were told (examples of this can be seen in "Antigone"). One time Thespus steped forward from the chorus to recite a solo line--he became the first "Thespian" or actor.
That they both are known for their devotion to justice, their integrity and their respect for the gods is the story relation that shows what the stories about Antigone and Lycurgus have in common.Specifically, Theban Princess Antigone gives up her life to support divine justice and will over royal caprices and edicts. The gods promise below-ground burials to all Thebans whereas Antigone's uncle, King Creon, decides to honor those rights only in the case of Theban loyalists. Antigone rebels in burying her brother Polyneices, whom Creon labels a Theban enemy of the Theban people. Her integrity and respect for divine justice and will trickle down from the 12th century B.C.E. and is embodied in the ninth century B.C.E. by Lycurgus (800 B.C.E.? - 730 B.C.E.?), ancient Sparta's lawgiver who does not fear to call to the carpet royals who flout divine justice and will.
That both are walled up by close relatives to keep them from their beloved and to sabotage divine will is the story relation that shows what the stories about Antigone and Danaë have in common.Specifically, Danaë is walled up in a prison by her father, Argive King Acrisius. Her father fears a prophecy that he will be killed by his own grandson. He seeks to prevent his daughter from having a child with her beloved, who turns out to be Zeus the chief god. Theban Princess Antigone likewise is walled up in a remote cave by her uncle, King Creon. Her uncle fears her defense of cherished Theban burial traditions whose divine sanctioning he suppresses. He seeks to prevent his niece from going through with her marriage to Prince Haemon, Creon's son and heir apparent and Antigone's first cousin.

Cleopatra was the last know pharhoa to rule Ancient Egypt. There are conflicting stories as to exactly what caused Cleopatra to die. Although it was definitely suicide, she either enticed an asp to bite her or applied a toxic salve to her body resulting in her death.
NO QUOTES ARE DOCUMENTED. POSSIBLY QUOTES OF CAESAR... BUT NOT CLEOPATRA. Nothing that she directly said has been documented. Only her stories of her life are documented, but in hieroglyphics Plutarch says that her favorite oath was "as sure as I shall give judgment on the capital at Rome".

Cleopatra is most remembered for all the myths and misconceptions about her. She is first and foremost remembered as a seductress. Then she is thought of to be a great beauty and from this misconception grew stories about her makeup, perfumes, beauty rituals, etc. Of course, the myth about her dying by being bitten by a snake is probably in a tie for her being a seductress. Although none of these things were necessarily true about Cleopatra, they are what she is remembered for in history.
If between his father and his mother, Nwoye prefers his mother's stories to his father's war stories. Later on, Nwoye prefers the stories of the Christians.
