Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy because all Montagues (Romeo's family) and all Capulets (Juliet's family) really hate each other... but, R+J love each other. They marry without letting no one but Juliet's nurse know. The same day they marry, Romeo's best friend, Mercutio, is killed by Juliet's cousin, Tybalt. But Tybalt was killed (by Romeo) a few minutes after Mercutio's death. And Juliet's parents want her to marry a bachlor named Paris, even though she is already married to Romeo (her parents still don't know). The pastor who made them "husband and wife", had a plan it was for Juliet to drink poison that put her into a deep sleep and everyone will think that she is dead; the pastor then will tell Romeo's their plan but Romeo never got the message. Then Romeo's friend hears about Juliet's death and tells Romeo. Since Romeo loved Juliet with all his heart, he believed it and also drank poison on Juliet's "death-bed" (next to her). Since Juliet was never dead she woke up right when Romeo was finshed with the poison, Juliet grabed Romeo's gun and shot herself right next to Romeo. In the end their families ended their hatered.
Romeo & Juilet, have a mulitiude of tragic elements.
If you are asking what the flaw is in the tragedy then I would say that it would be that Romeo was too pessimistic and was like, woe is me my wife is dead now i must die, and then led him to killing himself. If he wouldn't of acted so suddenly he would have been alive to see Juliet wake up and find that she wasn't dead.
If you are asking what the tragedy was then it was that two family feuds led two star-crossed lovers to commit suicide over each others deaths.
A Shakespearian play set in Verona, Italy. The plot is over only a few days, but during this time, Romeo meet each other for the guest time, get married, and both commit suicide. A great play with a good deal of 16th century comedy.
Romeo and Juliet were in different families that were feuding and had a long hatred between them but they fell in love. Forbidden to marry they devised a plan to fake their own deaths and run away together but it all went wrong and they ended up both committing suicide. So sad.
Romeo and Juliet is an example of tragedy. The whole play is an example of tragedy. That's the kind of play it is, not a part of it.
