Shakespreare learned, spoke and wrote in English. To be more precise, Early Modern English, the variation of the English language spoken during his time. One can read this variation with some moderate difficulty, although spelling differences, words that have fallen out of use and differences in grammatical structure (both regular and artistic) increase the difficulty. Modern texts usually change the spellings to modern usage (it for yt, tragedy for tragedie).
The following is my speculation of other languages that the late, great William Shakespeare may have known:
--As was common in the time, he may have known French. He often uses many words of French origin throughout his plays.
--He may have known Italian. There are some plays, such as The Tempest, which contain many phrases in Italian.
--He most likely spoke Latin, although to my knowledge it is unclear which dialect of Latin he spoke. "Et tu, Brute" is one famous Shakespearean Latin quote from the Julius Caesar play. He also uses a lot of Greco-Roman mythology in his works, signaling he may have been very interested in the Ancient Roman society, where they spoke Latin.
English, of course. He would have started Latin studies at that age but would not have been fluent.

It depends on the play. Each one has a different central idea. But in general, by reading Shakespeare plays you can gain an insight into the Elizabethan period. What was important to them, how they spoke, what they valued, what were the intrigues and wars, etc...
don't. Answer William Shakespeare invented a lot of the words in the English language, many of them are still in use today. This is one reason to study Shakespeare's works. Next Answer Shakespeare was an expert in using words to make ordinary people understand things and feel emotion. He was a great writer who wrote plays not for highly educated people, but for everyone to enjoy. In these plays, he talked about controversial topics, tragedy, horror, fantasy, love, and famous people. We can learn from Shakespeare if we want to be able to influence other people as well as he did.
