I dont believe you need formal training to own a hairdressing salon, though former business knowledge is advisable. You do however need Training to actually cut hair. - You would need to reach at least a level 3 vocational award in the trade - this is normally undertaken as an apprentice. You would then need basic book-keeping skills, knowledge of business running etc
