He then gets spotted by Tybalt, Juliets other cousin who at the time backs off but plans his revenge. Romeo falls in love with Juliet the moment he lays eyes on her, and asks her to marry him. He then gets banished for killing Tybalt, and in the end the two lovers die side byside.

He is a brosseur de merde, a troublemaker, a bully. His role dramatically is to prevent the reconciliation of the Capulets and Montagues by insisting on a duel to the death with Romeo. Romeo would just as soon have made peace with his in-laws, by Tybalt's role is to prevent that.

She is, of course, Juliet's mother, but she has never mothered Juliet--the Nurse has been acting as her mother all along. In Act 1, she is uncomfortable talking with Juliet about the possibility of marrying Paris because she does not really know her daughter. That's why she calls back the nurse.

Later, when she tells Juliet about Capulet's decision that Juliet will marry Paris, she goes on about her own anger at Romeo, imputing her thoughts to Juliet. Juliet in her responses is lying or at least being equivocal, but Lady Capulet does not notice it at all. She's too wrapped up in herself.

The fervency of Lady Capulet's hatred for Romeo is probably the main reason why Juliet feels that she dare not reveal, in response to the decision to marry her to Paris, that she is already married to Romeo. She might have been able to tell her father, but not her mother.

Lady Capulet also serves as a foil for the Nurse, since both of them are mother figures for Juliet, in different ways.
