We don't know much about it, except that he went to school and came out of it alive.

William Shakespeare was the son of John Shakespeare, a glover and alderman from Snitterfield, and Mary Arden, the daughter of a landowning farmer.

He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon and baptised on 26 April 1564.

His birthdate is unknown, but is traditionally observed on 23 April, St George's Day.

He was the third child of eight and the eldest surviving son.

Although no attendance records for the period survive, most biographers agree that Shakespeare was educated at the King's New School in Stratford.

We have no reason to suspect that Shakespeare's childhood was in any way unusual since we have no information at all about it. We can speculate that he may have done the same types of things other children do and did: play games, go to school, get into minor scrapes and so on.
