In many ways similar to attending a play at Shakespeare's Globe, the modern reconstruction. The seats or lack of them, the lighting and lack of electronic amplification would be very much the same. The crowd noise would have been the same, or actually worse because there would be food sellers wandering around selling their wares, and the audience would not have hesitated to heckle. The related link gives some idea of what it would be like waiting for the play to start. One thing that would have been very different would be the smell. Just think of all those people who bathe twice a year, watching a play for three hours without a break and without a bathroom.

What river wes near William Shakespeare globe?

The building called Shakespeare's Globe, which opened in 1997, stands not far from the south bank of the River Thames. There is not nor has there ever been a building called "William Shakespeare Globe". The Globe Playhouse at which Shakespeare performed was never associated with Shakespeare particularly during its existence.

What is the name of the theater where all William Shakespeares plays were perforned?

There is probably no one theatre where all of Shakespeare's plays were performed. You may be thinking of the Globe Theatre. The Globe Theatre was built in 1599 and probably saw all of the plays Shakespeare wrote after that date. But Shakespeare had already been a playwright for seven or eight years before the Globe was built. If any of his plays written before 1599 were played at the Globe they would have to have been revivals. Some of his old plays may have been revived, but all of them? Unlikely.

Why is Shakespeare's Globe Theatre called what it is?

It is called that because it is a reproduction of the First Globe Theatre which stood near to where Shakespeare's Globe is located from 1599 to 1613, when it burned down. It is called "Shakespeare's" Globe Theatre because at the time that it was built, in 1997, William Shakespeare was far and away the most famous person to have been associated with the First Globe. The name "Shakespeare's Globe" ONLY refers to the theatre built in 1997. The one built in 1599 and the one built in 1614 were both called simply The Globe. At the time they were built, William Shakespeare was not the most famous person associated with them, nor was he the principal owner of them.

When did they rebuild the globe theatre and did William Shakespeare work there?

In 1614, the Globe Theater was rebuilt after having been burnt down. Yes, William Shakespeare worked as an actor at the Theater and an investor.

What was the most popular play in Shakespeare's Globe?

When you say "Shakespeare's Globe" you mean the reconstruction of the first Globe Theatre which opened in London in 1997. The most popular play at Shakespeare's Globe is Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, which has been produced 5 times, followed by Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream (4 times each) and Howard Brenton's Anne Boleyn (3 times)

What is the history of the Globe Theater?

The Globe Theater was built in London, England in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men. It was destroyed by fire in 1613. The Globe Theatre, because Shakespeare did act in it, along with other theatres. It was one of two theatres which he owned a share in. He also was a part owner of the Blackfriars Theatre and he acted in it as well, but not for as long as the Globe.

Only once, on June 29, 1613. Of course there have been other Globe Theatres which didn't burn down, including Shakespeare's Globe, the one standing today.

Is the globe theatre still around?

The first globe opened by William shakespeare is not still around and hasn't been for sometime, but they re-built a new globe which is very similar to the old globe, and that is still around at the moment, so it is in a way still around.
