Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] lived in Scotland. When the Shakespearean play opened, his home was Inverness Castle. That was the property that he had through his title as Thane of Glamis. He also became Thane of Cawdor. And so the properties of Cawdor became his as well. Once he became King, he had access to the royal properties. The two royal residences that are mentioned in the Shakespearan play are the palace at Forres and the castle at Dunsinane.

Genealogical information on the internet have suggested that Macbeth [d. August 15, 1057] was born around 1014. He succeeded his father, Findlaech macRuaidri [d. 1020], as King of Moray. And genealogical information on the Internet have suggested that Macbeth was born in Morayshire, in northeastern Scotland. In fact, his residence at Inverness Castle may have been his lifelong home until he became King of Scotland.

The particulars of Macbeth's birth were unknown. Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] of the Shakespearean play was based on a real, living, breathing historical person. But William Shakespeare [Baptized April 26, 1564-April 23, 1616] was silent on many of the particulars, and misleading on many of the facts, of Macbeth's life. Likewise was the genealogical and historical record silent on the facts of the King of Scotland's birth day, month and year. His year of birth has been estimated as having occurred anywhere from about 1005 to 1015. No estimates have been left as to the birth day or month.
