Congratulations on doing NAM! It is a great program. I got mine at Macy's, but there were many places that had them at the mall.
Best thign to do is to take the Magazine #1 that the pageant provides and show it to the sales person at the stores you go to. That magazine has the actual rules in it.
You can also get ideas by looking online at YouTube for National American Miss. There you will see videos that other girls have uploaded from when they were in NAM, including some where they are doing their Personal Introduction in an interview suit. It will give you ideas.
I also know that since NAM is a "natural," not a "glitz" pageant, that you would want to avoid a suit that has like rhinestone buttons, low cut, etc. NAM is about a real-world job interview. It is about interviewing for the "job" of representing your state. So, you want to look like you are at a real-world job interview.
The majority of beauty pageants require its contestants to wear a suit/business wear for the interview portion, a swimsuit and evening gown.
Anything that had a live animal in it! Also 1948 was the last year she was crowned in a bathing suit!
Hi, 3 years ago, I entered this pagent. You don't enter the pageant, you apply, kind of like a job so they can breifly get to know you in writen question form along with a picture of you. Then they call for a phone interview if they are considering you for the state pageant. If you are chosen as a finalist, most of the money needed is from sponsors. I was in Miss Illinois Teen USA and I don't know if its the same in each state but I needed at least $1,000 in sponsors. Then you need to purchase an evening gown, one piece swim-suit, and and interview suit. Food is included in your stay at the hotel (with a room-mate) They set all of that up for you. You can pay extra to have their stylists do your hair and make-up or you could do your own. Then tickets for family and friends to come see the pageant I remember are very expensive but I don't recall how much. However, despite all the expenses, it is totally worth the experience. Its a big oppurtunity, PLUS all the FREE stuff from their sponsors such as make-up, lotions, even scholarships!
Red leather suit with a black belt
First of all, it's 'Suite Life on Deck', not 'suit life on deck', and yes it did.
A suit would be best for an interview.
NO
You can wear a suit without a tie for an interview. It looks formal if you select suits that are light colored, colors such as grey, cream etc.

a women ina suit
Sharp black suits are very popular and will certainly make an impression in an interview.
We went last year and it ends up costing a lot! Once you pay for the sponsor fee ($440), you still have to buy the production t shirt ($40), tickets to the show $20 each, hotel room for 2 nights, meals, a dress, interview suit and if you want to be competitive-coaching, hair and makeup and professional photos. So that's at least $1000. It's one of the most expensive pageants.
