Theatres, mostly. During Shakespeare's lifetime they were performed at the Rose, Newington Butts Theatre, The Theatre, The Curtain, The Globe and the Blackfriars, and afterward at Drury Lane, Covent Garden, the Old Vic, the National Theatre, The Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, and at Shakespeare's Globe among many others.

They have also been performed in private houses, at court, on ships, in gardens, in schoolhouses, village halls and, to tell the truth, just about everywhere.
