the poet uses words like damp nook, desert, and sluggish brook to show the reader what is in its surroundings; things that are lifeless and do not compare to the Rhodora's beauty.
One can only speculate. But my guess is that it's a combination of fulfilling the poetic form (number of lines, rhyming scheme) and expressing (through repetition) the tedium of those pre-bedtime miles. - aster isk
its very tiny. I got the part this year for my school play and i was very upset because she has 1-3 lines in the whole play. She has one good line that will make everybody laugh but opinion is its not a very big role. You will be seen once or twice and that's it..to me its not worth it.
