In the last scene of the play, Paris's page arrives with a group of Watchmen. A watchman is what we would these days call a cop, a policeman. One of them, identified in the script as the first watchman, appears to be in charge, as he orders the other watchmen to search the area for people, and when they find Balthazar and Friar Lawrence, he orders them to be arrested until the Prince comes. Unlike many Shakespearean watchmen, this one appears to be competent. However, we are never told his name.
