Macbeth gets the title because it was stripped away from the former Thane of Cawdor who had rebelled traitorously against King Duncan. This foreshadows that Macbeth will also betray King Duncan.
Duncan appoints him to that title, after it was stripped from the previous Thane. The former Thane of Cawdor was stripped of all titles and executed after joining a Norwegian invading force which was defeated at Fife. Macbeth at the time was at Forres, nowhere near Fife.
It depends which Macbeth freakout you are talking about: the one after he commits the murder (where he freaks out about not being able to say Amen) and the other at the dinner party (when he sees the ghost of Banquo). One of my favourite lines from the former is "Infirm of purpose!" and from the latter, "When all is done you look but on a stool!"
Friends and fellow Generals Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] and Banquo defeated Macdonwald the treacherous Scotsman. They then fought invading Norwegians and discontented Scotsmen. In fact, Act 1 Scene 2 began with the bleeding Captain's report of Macbeth's and Banquo's victory over Macdonwald. It continued with their equal successes against invaders and rebels under King Sweno [c. 1016-1035] of Norway.
He can refer to himself as not having a tool.
"Macbeth" and "A Christmas Carol" are two different storys. Macbeth is a play by William shakespeare and Christmas Carol is a book by Charles Dickins. In Macbeth The ghost that apears to Macbet is called Banquo, the Man whom Macbeth Killed so that his Children would not mess up the chances of him being King. In a Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge was visited by 3 spirits. Ghoast of Christmas past, present and future.

In Shakespeare's play "Macbeth," the ghost that haunts Macbeth is the ghost of Banquo, a former friend whom Macbeth has murdered in order to secure his position as king. The ghost appears during a banquet hosted by Macbeth and is only visible to him, causing Macbeth to react with guilt and terror.
