Goneril, her sister, poisons her. Some productions feature Albany, Regan and Goneril celebrating after winning the battle, each having a glass of wine that Goneril pours. As she does so, she poisons Regan's glass, who shortly begins to feel ill.

This has been done in some productions I've seen very effectively !

Goneril poisons her sister mainly due to her jealousy, as now Regan is a widow she is free to marry Edmund, who Goneril is also obsessed with.

King Lear, a character in William Shakespeare's tragedy, does not have a wife mentioned in the play. His daughters, Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia, are central to the story, but Lear's wife is not present in the narrative. It is implied that she may have died before the events of the play, as Lear's focus is primarily on his relationships with his daughters and his descent into madness.
