Last I checked, the Lady was a lady and her husband, Macbeth, a man. Madame Defarge, on the other had, is debatable. When Macbeth was written only men were allowed to play the part of Lady Macbeth because women werent allowed to be actors. She is however a she.

After Lady Macbeth kills the King ( Duncan ) she starts having strange hallucinations about having blood on her hands, but no mattar how he she scrubs her hands, Lady Mcbeth can't get the blood off her hands.
