Considering the poor living conditions in London at the time it is not at all suprising that someone would not want to go there if they didn't have to; much less take their wife and family there.

It wasn't just a matter of Anne. There were the three kids to consider. When Shakespeare first went to London, he probably couldn't afford any kind of fancy accommodation for himself. If he was reduced to sleeping in the stable, did he want to bring Anne and the children into that environment? The theatres were located in some pretty seedy parts of the suburbs of London. Was that a nice place to bring your wife and kids? And the cost of living was way more in London. Did she want to strain their already meagre income? Add to that that Anne didn't know anyone in London, and all her friends and relatives were in Stratford. She would have lived a miserable life in London.

Shakespeare's accomodations in London were rented rooms, too small for a family of five. In Stratford they had a house and lots of extended family to lend support. It was a nicer place to raise kids.

Not because he didn't love her. Rather he needed to get a job so he went where the work was. When he retired, he came back to Stratford to live with his wife.
