Romeo didn't really love Rosaline. He as just playing at being in love, being what he thought guys in love were like. When the real thing came along the Rosaline fantasy vanished into thin air.

They might have falling in love so quickly for many reasons. One reason the might have fallen in love so quickly because Shakespeare is trying to show you that true love is true and pure and can not be broken. Another reason might be because how decisions that people make can effect their life and people around them.
