Why does Antigone murder Creon?

She doesn't. She hangs herself rather than being trapped alive in a tomb. Creon comes to let her out, but she is already dead.

How does Antigone treat Creon as she is taken to her tomb in 'Antigone'?

As though he does not exist to his face and critical behind his back are the ways in which Antigone treats Creon as she is taken to her tomb in "Antigone" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Theban King Creon is twice in her path when Princess Antigone is escorted from the royal palace to her imprisonment in a walled-up cave. Both times Creon heckles her and smirks about her lonely, miserable death away from all light and all companionship. Both times Antigone acts as though he is not even there, but once outside his presence criticizes his offensive law and finally curses him with the same degree of suffering.

What does Creon discover in Antigone's tomb at the end of Sophocles' play?

That he can't correct his error regarding Antigone and that he thereby is punished as predicted is what Theban King Creon discovers at his niece's tomb, at the end of the play 'Antigone' by Sophocles [496 B.C.E. - 406 B.C.E.].Specifically, Creon sentences his niece and future daughter-in-law to death for defying a law of no burial for perceived traitors to Thebes. But then Teiresias the blind prophet tells Creon to bury Antigone's brother Polyneices and to release Antigone from her death sentence for having tried to bury her brother. Teiresias warns that otherwise Creon stands to lose the life of his last child, Haemon. Creon lets Polyneices be buried in the Theban way. But he doesn't get to the remote cave where he has Antigone walled up in time to stop her suicide and the immediately subsequent suicide of Haemon.

Does Haemon rescue Antigone from her tomb?

No, Haemon doesn't rescue his first cousin and fiancee, Antigone, from her tomb. He arrives too late. She already has hanged herself with her own halter. Haemon tries to kill Theban King Creon, his father and Antigone's uncle. When he fails, he turns his sword upon himself. He dies holding onto Antigone.

How does the play Antigone end?

After Antigone has been killed, Haemon, Ismene and Queen Eurydice commit suicide. Creon at last repents seeing that he has caused all this by acting against the gods. [Actually, Antigone commits suicide, too. She hangs herself rather than slowly starve to death in the tomb in which Creon has had her sealed. Finding her dead is why Haemon kills himself. Finding that Haemon is dead is why Eurydice kills herself: cause and effect.]

What does Creon find when he finally goes to release Antigone from her tomb in 'Antigone'?

A dead niece and an angry and then dead son are what Creon finds when he finally goes to release Antigone from her tomb in "Antigone" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).Specifically, Theban Princess Antigone commits suicide rather than die walled up in the remote cave to which she is sentenced by King Creon, her uncle and intended father-in-law. Prince Haemon, her first cousin and husband-to-be, finds her body hanging from the halter of her own clothes. When he sees his father, Haemon is so angry that he tries to kill Creon. When he fails, he turns the sword upon himself and dies.

What sentence does Creon impose on Antigone for violating Polyneices burial?

It is initially to just straight up kill Antigone. But then, upon having a meeting with the Seer, who is actually a blind man (ironic much) he decides to change her fate. He will put her in a sealed stone tomb. Therefore no blood will be on his hands when it comes to the death of Antigone. If the gods want to keep her alive, they will. And if not, they won't.

When is Antigone's death?

Apparently, Antigone dies the very day that she's walled up in a remote cave. There's no indication in the play that Antigone's death march and subsequent suicide occur other than on the same day as Theban King Creon's meeting with Teiresias the blind prophet and Haemon's suicide. In fact, Teiresias tells Creon that the non burial of Polyneices and the capital punishment of Antigone must be reversed.Additionally, Antigone's first cousin and fiance, Haemon, goes running off when he learns of the carrying out of her sentence. He gives the impression at the palace meeting with his father and at the tomb meeting with Antigone that he has every hope of finding her alive. The further away from the carrying out of the sentence, the less it's likely to have such high hopes.

What were the names of the guards outside the tomb in Matthew's Gospel?

The story of the guards placed outside the tomb of Jesus is unique to Matthew's Gospel. The other gospels don't even mention guards; the disciples are free to just walk into the open tomb. Since the author of Matthew chose not to give them names, we will never know.

How many guards were outside of Jesus' tomb?
