Whenever most projectors flash the lamp status light, but nothing happens, it is usually a circuit board issue.
I personally have had the same issue before. The lamp was brand new, but it turned out being the projector and not the lamp.
If, however, it may not be a circuit board issue, it could be your lamp. If you have used your lamp over 1000 hours, it's probably it.

An LCD projector projects video images by shining a light through LCD panels. An overhead projector is for projecting slides and still images printed on transparent plastic sheets placed on a glass surface.
Lumen is a simple way to indicate the amount of light the projector has to produce the brightness of the picture. The higher the number the brighter the picture.
A projector simply projects images onto a wall or projection screen. Projectors are typically used to increase the image size for viewing by audiences. Projectors come in a variety of sizes, normally measured in Lumens which is the brightness of the light. This brightness will determine the size the image can project and the distance the projector can be from the screen. Slide projectors use light to project images from 35mm slides. Digital Projectors use light to project images from computers and DVD players.
An overhead projector is used to project an image of a transparency onto a wall or screen by means of an overhead mirror. There are also "slide projectors" that are used to display photographic slides on a wall or screen. A "projector" or "digital projector" would be used similar to a computer monitor or a television screen that would display an inputted image from a variety of sources (blu-ray player, computer, laptop, dvd players, game console, etc.). In the case of a projector the image is projected with the help of a light apparatus shining through a small silicon ship and projected through a lens to create an image on your wall or projector screen.
The range of expected life range for projector lamps is 750 to 6000 hours with an average of 2000 hours.

An image is formed in an overhead projector by shining light onto a transparent slide or transparency placed on the projector's stage. The light passes through the slide, projecting the image onto a screen or wall. The lens on the projector focuses the light to create a clear and enlarged image for viewers to see.

The halo means there is a ring of light around one of the light bulbs. The other light bulb is a projector, a small concentrated light. If you see a late model BMW, it will have halo lights. Hope this helps.
Projector headlights provide a much more intense beam of light for your car. According to CarPart4U, "Stylized projector headlights allow for a much more concentrated and intense beams of light for your car driving lights needs. Projector headlights direct light beam penetrates the air, allowing the projector headlight to illuminate farther down the road than run-of-the-mill parabolic headlights." http://www.carpart4u.com/autopart/Projector-Headlights-p-1-c-6.html
The main parts of an LCD projector include the LCD panel, light source (typically a lamp or LED), lens system, and cooling fan. The LCD panel displays the image, which is then projected onto a screen through the lens system. The light source provides the light necessary to project the image, while the cooling fan helps regulate the projector's temperature during operation.

A flashlight and a projector both emit light, but they serve different purposes. A flashlight focuses light into a beam to illuminate specific areas, while a projector casts images or videos onto a surface using a lens system to spread the light and create a larger display. Essentially, a flashlight is for direct illumination, whereas a projector is designed for displaying visual content.
