In film acting (or any type of acting infront of a camera), you can do close ups, camera trickery, re-takes till you get the perfect take or if you forgot your lines/messed up, and generally you expressions have to be more sincere and 'human' like if there is not camera there and it is a real life situation.
In stage acting, your movements and expressions often have to be bigger, so the audience can see you even if they are right at the back of the theatre. If you mess up, you can try and cover it up or the other actors with you can try and help you and carry on like nothing happened. "The show must go on!"
stage acting (theatre acting) is acting with a microphone on your person rather than acting with a microphone above your head. with film acting there are specific ways to stand and you have to take your "mark". On a stage it is more freely done. Also, when acting in a film you do not look at the camera at all, that way it seems more real. When acting on a stage sometimes the actors will look at the audience.
Film actors do not have to be over the top or remember lots of lines in a group. Stage actors do.
Film actors must adjust for different points of view

While no career is quite the same as acting, some are similar. But first, I need to know what your definition of acting is, Theater acting? Movie/TV acting? etc. The only similar jobs I can think of are; singing, miming, becoming a Drama teacher, acting on stage, acting in a film/on TV.Hope I helped =P

YES, If you want to be discovered for stage acting you dont have to be in film acting at all. You could do COMMERCIAL acting, or TV acting. If your wondering what the difference is between these four acting styles, here it is: STAGE/THEATRE: Plays, and Musicals. FILM: Movies, Educational videos, and Documentaries. (Movies mainly) TV: telivision shows (there are commedies, soapoperas, reality, ect.) COMMERCIAL: advertizing products, places, or sometimes people.
No, it's different. When you are on the stage, there is no going back, what's done is done and you must make do with that. If you mess up, you better hope the other people in the production catch on and help save your mistake. However, if you make a mistake in film acting, you can always start over and try again. It's not like the whole film is over because you messed up.
