In Act IV she is being pressured to marry Paris, but does not want to commit bigamy. She goes to see Friar Lawrence with the idea that if he cannot come up with a solution to her problem, she will kill herself.
The friar asks whether Juliet is ready to go to church, and Capulet responds, "Ready to go, but never to return." She is ready to go to the church to be buried, not to be wed, and from her burial she will never return. Capulet then speaks to Paris about the subject, as we know by his words "O son!"
