The information given below is very interesting but it doesn't answer this question, which is a neat little riddle...
More information about dimes and nickels
It used to be that coins were made in an alloy close to their value. Before the nickel was introduced in 1866, the US used a small coin called a "Half Dime" which was thinner and smaller than a dime and it was struck in silver. Due to pressure from the nickel lobby, the US eventually started minting several denominations in nickel, the three cent piece in 1865 (replacing the tiny silver three cent piece) and also introducing nickel into the small cents (the Flying Eagles and the early Indian Heads) . The nickel was larger because nickel was much less expensive than silver and so you'd need a larger coin to get about the same value as the half dime. The half dime continued to circulate with the nickel until 1873 when the half-dime was discontinued.
And more ...
The joke is (drum roll) that a dime has twice as much "cents" (ba-DING!)
Because it makes more cents.
There are 2 ways of answering it, first is this is usually some form of a "trick question" where the answer is, "a half dollar and a nickel, because the half isn't a nickel". However, a more technical answer would be that you would have one half dollar and one half-dime (half dimes were minted from 1792-1873, they were small 90% silver coins half the weight of a dime, the nickel is much larger and started being minted in 1866 and is 75% copper and 25% nickel)
3 pennies, 2 quarters, 1 nickel, and 1 dime.
In Season 1, Drake is smarter than Josh but lazy. Season 2 is when they realized that Drake was OP so they made him dumb and made Josh smarter. Season 3 is when they made Drake even dumber and Josh even smarter. By Season 4, it is established that Josh is way smarter than Drake.
cuz it has more "CENTS"
Because it makes more cents.
A dime is smaller than a nickel. A nickel is worth less than a dime. A dime has a ridged side, while a nickel is smooth and thicker.
Both nickels and dimes are composed of Copper and Nickel. A dime, however, is 91.67% Copper and 8.33% Nickel, while a nickel is 75% Copper and 25% Nickel. Since Copper is a bit denser than Nickel, and a dime contains relatively more Copper, than a dime would be denser than a nickel.
a nickel is not bigger than a penny its the same size
Yes, a nickel is half a dime!
A nickel equals 5 cents; the dime 10 cents. Two nickels equals one dime in value. So the nickel is 50% of the dime.
Dime: Franklin D. Roosevelt Nickel: Thomas Jefferson
The dime had more cents.
You fail to understand the value of a nickel or a dime. A nickel is 5 cents. A dime is 10 cents. There are 2 nickels to make 1 dime.
One is a nickel and one is a dime. The one that is NOT A NICKEL is the dime!
There are eight possible results when flipping three coins (eliminating the highly unlikely scenario of one or more coins landing on their edge): Dime - Heads / Nickel - Heads / Penny - Heads Dime - Heads / Nickel - Heads / Penny - Tails Dime - Heads / Nickel - Tails / Penny - Heads Dime - Heads / Nickel - Tails / Penny - Tails Dime - Tails / Nickel - Heads / Penny - Heads Dime - Tails / Nickel - Heads / Penny - Tails Dime - Tails / Nickel - Tails / Penny - Heads Dime - Tails / Nickel - Tails / Penny - Tails
