Because Benvolio wants him to see other pretty girls to take his mind off of Rosaline, who is not interested in Romeo at all. And it works perfectly.

Where does Romeo see Juliet for the first time?

Romeo sees Juliet for the first time at her house. Her family (the Capulets) held a party, and Romeo and his friends Benvolio and Mercutio learned of it when they bumped into the Clown, Capulet's servant. Romeo was in love with Rosaline at that time, and Benvolio suggests that they go to this party, as Rosaline, who is a Capulet, would be there. However, Benvolio's goal is for Romeo to meet another girl and fall in love, which did happen; unfortunately, this other girl, which is Juliet, happens to be a Capulet as well.

In Romeo and Juliet How does Romeo come to be invited to the party?

A Capulet servant could not read the guest list to the party that his master gave him. So coming upon Romeo and Benvolio, he asks Romeo if he could read. Romeo read the list for the servant and sees Rosalins's name. He asks the servant where they will be and the servant says that '...if you be not of the house of/ Montague, I pray come and crush a cup of wine...' and so they would have been invited to the party if they weren't Montagues. Which of course they were.

When Romeo was reading the list off to the servant, he read Rosaline's name and decided he wanted to go secretly. At the party is where he encounters Juliet.

Does benvolio Montague have a knife?

If the production of Romeo and Juliet is set in a medieval or renaissance period, then Benvolio certainly should have a knife. Everyone had a knife, since they were needed for eating (your host did not provide cutlery). Benvolio presumably also has a sword, or Tybalt would not say, "Art thou drawn among these heartless hinds?"

Who is more peaceful Benvolio or Romeo?

Both of them try to stop fights. Benvolio never starts any fights and counsels Mercutio to get out of the way of the Capulets if they are looking for trouble. Although Romeo also tries to avoid them most of the time, he does start one and only one fight, the fight in which Tybalt is killed. Benvolio says he would have stopped that one too but he didn't have a chance. Benvolio is even more peaceful than Romeo.

What friends keep looking for Romeo after the Capulet Party?
