There is an old proverb that says, "You die twice, once when your body dies and once when anyone who remembers you dies."

It is certainly heartening to know that these people are not forgotten; like many of our ancestors, our friends, and relatives. We keep them alive in our thoughts and our hearts. There is also a proverb that says "A coward dies many deaths, a brave man only once." These are references to anticipation of death or forms of relative immortality outside the confines of being a living being. On the practical side, you can only die once. Death is the end of life. Once life is truly ended, it is not restored (except in the view of some religions) so a second death is not possible.
