Understanding. Communication and resulting misinterpretations. The limitations of time and space and our access to energy and matter. Our senses and observations, and how much we can perceive of the environment and universe around us. The ability to comprehend any state or level of consciousness outside of our own. The choices we make. The questions we ask.

It depends when you would consider a barrier of knowledge to be met, or broken. If we reach a point when we can answer every question, is that a barrier? The barrier comes not when we cannot answer any more questions, but when we stop asking questions.

I really have no addition, I just wanted to admire how complete and well formulated the answer above was, hazaa boyo.

Alternate Answer:

I don't see 'Understanding' as a barrier to knowledge. A lack of understanding or a failure to understand would be barriers to knowledge.

'Communication' is not a barrier. It is a primary path to knowledge. A break in communication or a failure to communicate would be a barrier.

'Our senses and observations, and how much we can perceive of the environment and universe around us.' are not barriers. These are the primary paths to knowledge we have.

'The ability to comprehend any state or level of consciousness outside of our own.' is a freedom we have, it is not a barrier.

Maybe one should clarify what is meant by 'knowledge'. All of the above comprise one's own knowledge or they describe the means to attain it. They are not barriers to one's own knowledge. Now we might talk about the knowledge that others might have. Is there any knowledge beyond what we have and what others have? I think not. But certainly we or they may create more knowledge.

I think for practical purposes the considerations we hold that limit our knowledge are the only barriers to knowledge there are.

For example if I consider there are things I can know and things I can not know, The Knowable and the Unknowable. I must consider there are things others know that I can not. What if I don't hold such a considersation?
