The first spirit to visit Odysseus in Hades asks him to allow her to drink the blood of the sacrificial animals so that she may speak to him and share her prophecy.
Odysseus learns from Tiresias that he will face many challenges on his journey home, including encounters with monsters and temptations. Tiresias also warns Odysseus to be wary of the sun god Helios and his cattle, as harming them will bring destruction to his crew and delay his return even further. Lastly, Tiresias tells Odysseus that he must make amends with Poseidon in order to find eventual peace and fulfillment.
He did not encounter this god in the Odyssey, he encountered ghosts of those who had died including the prophet/priest Tiresias, his mother who warned of the suitors and strife stirring in his absence, Agamemnon, of whose murder he now learned, who also warned him about the dangers of women among others.
Nausicaa learns from Odysseus that he is a great warrior and leader, known for his cunning and intelligence. She also learns about his journey and struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Nausicaa admires Odysseus for his resilience and determination.
