As the cyclops felt each sheep as they walked out of the cave, he was trying to make sure no men were escaping, but the cyclops not knowing they were underneith, and so Odysseus and his men escape thanks to Odysseus. As they enter their boats, the cyclops curses them and asks for his fathers help to kill the men who had injured him, his father being posiden.
