Descartes didn’t get up before 11 am because he developed his lifestyle like that when he was studying the Books of Clavius. He would use the excuse that ‘he was too sickly to get out of bed and so he thinks until 11am’.
Descartes had the habit of sleeping in and waking up late, often not rising before 11 am, due to his belief that morning hours were unproductive and better spent in bed contemplating his philosophical ideas in a relaxed state. He felt that he was most creative and productive in the quiet, solitary hours of the night and early morning.
Descartes' questioning of what it means to be human, how we can escape solipsm, explain the self and believe in God had a large effect because it caused many following philosophers to consider the same issue. For example the philosoper Hume came up with many criticisms of Descartes, namely what exactly is 'I' in 'I think therefore I am.'
It isn't quite clear how he died but we do know that he moved to Sweden in 1649.However he did not survive his first winter there. In 1649, Queen Christina of Sweden offered Descartes to come and teach her either mathematics or philosophy in her castle. She apparently was a hard working person; Descartes was required to start his lessons with her at 5am! Descartes still maintained a life long habit he acquired in childhood to get up at 11 o'clock(he was very weak even when he was a boy, and was allowed to stay in bed for most of the morning); as he broke his habit, he broke his health too and died of pneumonia he managed to catch while on way to one of the cold early morning lessons.

How did Rene Descartes come up the cartesian plane?
Rene Descartes
The true name was Rene Descartes with an acute accent over the last letter of his first name. I expect this browser to mess that up!
DESCARTES Rule in math class. (geometry and up!)
Rene Descartes came up with scientific notation

Rene Descartes and Francis Bacon are known for their philosophical contributions in the scientific revolution. Descartes contributions are in the areas of science and mathematics. He came up with the reasoning to the issues in these areas which are truth based and incontrovertible. While Francis Baconâ??s Scientific Method stressed on to replace the deductive reasoning by inductive reasoning.
One of Descartes simple but important contributions to the field of mathematics is his notation, which made exponents into a superscript after the root. He also came up with the formula for reflection and refraction and the Cartesian plane
Rene Descartes reportedly woke up at 11 AM because he believed that his most productive thinking occurred during the night. He often worked late into the night, engaging in deep philosophical and mathematical contemplation, which led to his late mornings. This routine allowed him to maximize his creativity and intellectual output, aligning with his personal preferences and work style.
Descartes explains the logic behind the laws of reflection he discovered in his work "Dioptrics". He uses the idea of a tennis ball bouncing at an angle of the ground and up through a sheet to formulate the laws of reflection on a geometric plane.
