We are accountable for actions done out of habits because habits are formed through repeated behavior, which is within our control. Habits are acquired behaviors and as such can be good or bad. We each are responsible for all our actions - in one way or another. Even when we think we got away with something, we really didn't as we remember it and our conscience may cause us to regret it someday in the future. Excessive drinking, smoking, drugs, and many others are examples of bad habits. These may hurt others and you - possibly even causing death. Good habits are exercise, proper eating, dress, appearance, speech, attitude - positive thinking and many more examples. These will lead to a happier life experience and perhaps a prolonged life.
Being held accountable for something or some action means that you are responsible for that thing or action. If they are not unlocked at the designated time, it will be considered your fault and you may get a negative response from your employer.
