"polarized"
You can try using a non-abrasive eyeglass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth to gently buff out light scratches on your Ray Bans. For deeper scratches, you may need to visit a professional optician or eyeglass repair shop for assistance. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that may further damage the lenses.
Light that is polarized to be horizontal passes through horizontal polarizers. This separates it from the other directions of light, since normal white is not polarized and is in all directions.
Non-polarized light consists of waves vibrating in all directions perpendicular to the direction of propagation. It has random orientation of electric field vectors. Polarized light, on the other hand, has waves vibrating in a single plane perpendicular to the direction of propagation. This results in the electric field vectors being aligned in a specific direction, giving polarized light its unique properties.

Yes there are genuine ray bans made in china. Ray bans can be made in Italy or china. On amazon I read a few reviews about people upset that their ray bans were made in china. I googled it and found out that to keep up with demand they are made in both china and Italy. But most people prefer italy :) I hope I answered your question.
