Most nuclear power stations use uranium enriched to 3% uranium-235 isotope. The nuclear power stations in France include some reprocessed plutonium mixed with the enriched uranium. A small number of nuclear power stations were designed with fast neutron breeder reactors and used uranium enriched to as much as 93.7% uranium-235 isotope. As more of the uranium-238 (or thorium-232) in the breeding blanket was transmuted to fissionable plutonium (or uranium) isotopes, the breeding blanket material would be reprocessed and these fissionable isotopes would be used to replace the original spent uranium. But only a small number of such nuclear power stations were built and the system for reprocessing of the breeding blanket material was not set up.

This requires a rapid "assembly" system using conventional explosives to rearrange the fissile material from subcritical to supercritical in about 1ms. A neutron source starts the chain reaction and the explosion completes in about 1 microsecond.
The critical temperature of a refrigerant is the point at which it changes states. In a refrigeration scenario, this happens 2 times per cycle. The refrigerant is a liquid on the high pressure side, and below its critical temp. On the low pressure side it becomes a vapor (gas) and its above its crictal temp. So the answer is both, depending on what side of the system you are on.
Lockwashers use friction to bind the nut to the surface of what is being fastenned. The more the lockwasher is tightenned by the nut (within limits) the more it holds the system together.
Feed back generated can be used to help alter the gain in the system to ensure marginal stability or critical damping
