Basically yes. The theory was so revolutionary that some people had a hard time believing it, but as experiments were done, it became almost a certainty. A word here about believing stuff in science. The non-scientific public believes that scientists have some invenstment in a particular point of view. For example, scientist believe that there are no Trilobytes alive today, since none has been seen for 250 million years. If one were found alive in the deep trenches off some island: The general public would believe that scientists would suffer a collapse of their faith. Scientists would say "COOL...", because faith is NEVER the issue, and new discoveries that shake up the field are welcomed. Is "Global Warming" caused by humans "real"? Maybe, probably, but no scientist would care to vote on it. Should SOMETHING be done? That's not a scientific question. Was Relativity "true". It really looks that way. No scientist would use the word "true".

Who developed the theory of reletivity?

When speaking of Relativity, people mostly think of Albert Einstein. However, Relativity was experimented by Galileo Galilei first. So when speaking of Relativity, it helps to be specific: Einsteinian Relativity or Galilean Relativity.

What is the greatest invention of albert Einstein?

One of Albert Einstein's greatest inventions is the theory of relativity, which revolutionized our understanding of space, time, and gravity. It consists of two parts: special relativity, which explains the relationship between energy and mass, and general relativity, which describes the curvature of spacetime caused by mass and energy.

Why do people like Albert Einstein?

People admire Albert Einstein for his groundbreaking contributions to physics, particularly his theory of relativity, which transformed our understanding of the universe. Additionally, his innovative thinking, intellectual curiosity, and humanitarian efforts have made him a symbol of genius and humility.

Did Albert Einstein do something crazy?

Albert Einstein was known for his groundbreaking work in physics, particularly his theory of relativity and the equation E=mc^2. While his ideas were unconventional at the time, they were not considered "crazy" in a negative sense, but rather revolutionary and ahead of their time.

What did Albert Einstein say when he discovered electricity?

Albert Einstein did not discover electricity. Electricity was discovered long before Einstein's time by people like Benjamin Franklin, Alessandro Volta, and Michael Faraday. Einstein's work primarily focused on theoretical physics and his groundbreaking theories of relativity.

How can we know that people traveling at or close to the speed of light will not age as fast as someone not traveling at such speeds when we have no means of reaching such speeds?

Einsteins theory of relativity

Name something people associate with Albert Einstein?

intelligence,Relativity. The Photoelectric effect

How did Einsteins theory of relativity change people's view of the universe?

So far my view is concerned, I have realized that space and time are only relative to the observer. "Nothing is absolute" is the statement made by Albert Einstein. The very observer is the absolute. So we have to realize our own selves. This is my humble view

What was Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity?

Albert Einstein's Theory of General Relativity was a complex book. He summarized the activities of coulombic and gravitational forces. The book contains many differential equations. Even people who have worked every equation in the book sometimes find it hard to follow.

Why is Albert Einstein so well-known?

For several reasons: He was the father of quantum mechanics, he made the photoelectric effect, the theory of relativity (E=mc2), and the general theory of relativity. But most people get confused with Albert Einstein saying that he was the father of quantum mechanics, well, he was accually the one that proved it, Max Plank was accually the one who thought of it first.

What people was a German physicist who immigrated to the US and became famous for his theory of relativity?

Albert Einstein, seriously, the answer as one of the categories, I think you are just asking questions to be stupid, shame on you

What did people think about theory of general relativity?

At first people thought that General Relativity was a bizarre and irrelevant theory. However, as time went by, people started to accept General Relativity more and more.
