it can depend. usually if a metal bat is struck on the handle its going to vibrate and hurt alot, if you hit a wood bat there it will either break which wont vibrate at all or the bat will stay intact and probably hurt more than a metal bat

Why do metals expand when hot and contract when cooled?

When metals are heated, the atoms within the metal vibrate more rapidly, causing them to take up more space and the metal to expand. When the metal is cooled, the atoms vibrate less, allowing them to move closer together, resulting in contraction. This expansion and contraction is due to the changes in the spacing and movement of the atoms within the metal structure.

How does the conductivity of metal change with temperature?

The conductivity of metal generally increases with temperature. This is because as temperature rises, the atoms in the metal vibrate more vigorously, allowing electrons to move more freely and carry electrical charge more effectively.

Are wooden floor registers better than metal ones?

Wooden floor registers are a matter of personal preference and aesthetics rather than performance. Both wooden and metal registers function similarly in terms of directing air flow. Metal registers may be more durable and easier to clean, while wooden ones contribute a warmer and more natural look to a space. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on individual style and maintenance preferences.

What is the process called when heat causes metal to expand?

The process is called thermal expansion. When metal is heated, the increase in temperature causes its particles to vibrate more vigorously, leading to an expansion in size.

When heating metal will volume and mass change?

When heating metal, its volume typically expands due to thermal expansion, which causes the atoms in the metal to vibrate more and spread out. The mass of the metal will not change during heating unless there is a chemical reaction taking place, such as oxidation.

Which baseball bat vibrates more a wooden bat or a metal bat?

Vibration in baseball bats comes from hitting the ball outside the sweet spot. Hitting the ball on the tip or handle will sting. Aluminum probably stings worse than wood but it depends on the bat, a solid aluminum will be worse than wood, but a hollow aluminum bat will be better than wood. There are many 2 piece bats on the market like the connexion by easton that are designed to prevent sting

Are metal bats allowed in professional baseball?

Yes it should be because soon after their college career, baseball players must face faster, better pitchers with weaker, wooden bats, causing bad starts to many rookie careers. With baseball bats that are wooden in college, scouts can help their team much more from more accurate results. No, because if college players used wooden bats there would be a lot more no hitters. That's why they have the Minor leauges

What are the advantages of a wooden flute?

I've played both but mainly the metal one more often. The wooden one gives a more asian-ish sound to it while the metal one is just a plian normal sounding flute. An example of this is in one of the final fantasy songs, they used a wooden flute instead of a metal one because since final fantasy is japanese, (i think), they used a wooden flute. Hope that helps :)
