Yes. Otherwise, the slightest push would make the object move around.

Whitch energy is it when energy caused by an object's vibration?

The energy caused by an object's vibration is known as mechanical energy. It can exist in the form of potential energy (stored energy) when the object is stationary, and kinetic energy (energy of motion) when the object is vibrating.

What does static force mean?

Static force refers to the force acting on an object when it is stationary or at rest. It is the force that must be overcome to initiate movement or to keep the object in place. Static force does not change as long as the object remains still.

What is the opposite of static electricity?

"Fenetic"- No, that doesn't exist. I'm not sure what is the opposite of static electricity yet. Static Electricity is a stationary electric charge or a stationary electric charge that builds up on an insulated object such as a capacitor or a thundercloud

What is the difference between electrostatic force and friction?

Electrostatic force is one between two electric charges but friction is the force between two surfaces. Even when the charges are at rest electro static force exists but friction would exist only when they start moving relatively. Coulomb's law is to be followed. but no specific law.

What are 3 types of kinetic friction?

1. Our cars would get much better gas mileage without tire and air friction. 2. There would be no more skinned knees if friction didn't exist. (Like when you are skating or playing football.) 3. We wouldn't have to worry about clothes chaffing us in dry weather if there were no friction. 4. We could do some pretty amazing dance moves without friction. (The Electric Slide would last forever....) 5. Our shoes would last a lot longer without friction.

What is resistance to the motion of an object?

Resistance to the motion of an object is friction. Several different kinds of friction exist, including dry, fluid, lubricated, skin, and internal.

Who is creator kinetic friction or limiting friction?

Not God.. Friction was always there, that's why planets exist.

Why do use powder on a carom board?

the main reason for doing so is that the surface becomes smooth n in terms of science to reduce "friction" that wud exist between the board n the striker due to which it will move more swiftly with lee deployment of power..!!

What does heat need to exist?

friction

Do force exist to object at rest?

There CAN be, as long as the force is being counterd by an equal and opposite force.

Why can't a snake move on a smooth surface?

A snake can move on a smooth surface. However, just like most other animals, it does require friction to exist between the surface and its body to move efficiently. A human would have difficulty walking on ice!

Why is rolling friction a type of static friction even though static means not moving?

It's static because the major cause of rolling friction is deformation of both roll and surface it's moving on - surfaces do not slide on each other(at any given instant the relative velocity of point on the roll that touches surface and surface itself is zero - at least in the model). The deformation causes the point of contact to be slightly displaced in front of the moving roll and reaction force at this point plus weight of the rolling object are no longer on the same line. This introduces torque that opposes the rotation of the roll. Rolling friction is essentially static friction because the point of the wheel in contact with the ground does not slide against it, but instead maintains its position. If enough static friction does not exist and the wheel slips against the ground, motion will not be proper. Sliding friction will however be taken into account in that case.
