The energy associated with position is called potential or real energy, Er. The energy associated with motion or velocity is called Kinetic or vector energy, Ev. Thus total energy is E=Er + Evand is a quaternion energy which consists of a real energy and vector energy. Thus energy is a four dimensional concept.

For example gravitational energy is E= -GmM/r + mcV = -mu/r + mcV. This is the real law of Gravitational energy. Newton did not include the kinetic vector energy mcV. This is this kinetic energy is now called incorrectly the "dark energy".
