How can electromagnetic tech help the Military?

In many ways Electromagnetic technology can help or save our Military by making the tools we need to protect ourselves cheaper, more efficient, environmentally friendly, and, safer.

How can this be done?

Ask yourself this, can we, as a country, afford not to do this?

Take A mechanized battalion, it needs a lot of fuel, needs ammo, needs to be refit after almost every battle, has to stay relatively close to base due to its limited range, is rather slow, and is noisy.

First lets take on the need for fuel. If every vehicle was equipped with my engine I have designed (and will soon build) there will be no need for even One drop of fuel. all the extra space free on a Bradley IFV would leave room for more supplies or Soldiers.

Ammo. Well speaking of conventional weapons the ammo can only be increased. You could use the room taken up by the fuel normally needed to add tens or hundreds of rounds (depending on the type of ammo needed) or, you could mount one of my (don't know what to call it yet) Lets go with a Mechwarrior reference, A gausse like weapon.

And just hurl chunks of metal at an opponent, so then you'd have more ammo then you'd need.

We are not talking of vehicle mounted weapons either. I can make them small enough for a soldiers sidearm and rifle.

Refit. With my designs, we could almost do away with refit altogether. Soldiers need resupply and rest, battle is rough on Men and Equipment. The vehicles will need repair and in rare occasion, will need rearmed. but Never refueled.

Range. Range will no longer be a hindrance. If you had the need to you could drive an APC from Washington to Tokyo, take in the sites, and then drive back again, (If not for the Pacific) and stop all you want, and turn the engine off and on.

Speed. The M1 is fast for a tank, 60 kph I believe. My engine will be able to propel an M1 at 85 MPH (yes that's MPH) or faster.

Noise. An internal combustion engine is noisy, so loud you need ear protection or a good muffler. Sometimes both. With my engine, all you'd here is a slight whrrr, almost like a cats purr. And that can be silence by shutting the engines door.

Now that's just one aspect of uses.

Transport either by plane, train, or ship. My engine can be used. All with no need for fuel ever. So cost from needing no fuel would save billions alone. And it does not pollute at all, So environmental damage could be cut as well.

Navy.

Take a Frigate for example. A nuclear powered Frigate needs no fuel either, but who is going to outfit a Frigate with a nuclear reactor? The cost of the reactor is more than the ship itself. Plus there is a greater chance of a meltdown on a small ship. But my engine can go on a ship that small. is a fraction of the cost. And adds no danger.

My engine is quieter then a gas turbine, or a boiler. Has more power. Needs no fuel. Has unlimited range. Lighter then any other engine.

Air Force.

Take a E3. Wouldn't you want to be able to leave it airborne almost 24/7? Would it not be safer for our ground troops to always have electronic support? And I bet you want better speed to boot? With my engines powering your planes you can have all that and more.

It would be great if you could reach any place from any place, with any vehicle.

Cap, no-fly zones, relief locations, bombing targets, whatever or wherever, whenever.

Marines.
