Ernest Rutherford develop the idea that the atom has nucleus by using gold foil and alpha particles. Basically He shot the poistive laser to the gold foil which contains positive and negitive, and he saw the reflection of it and it tells us that there is positive charge to reflect positive laser with is proton. J.J Thomson already discover the electron, who has negative charge. Then Rutherford figured out the nucleus is positive.
Ernest Rutherford discovered the nucleus of the atom by shooting alpha particles at a piece of gold foil. When a small percentage of alpha particles bounced directly back instead of being simply deflected in the forward direction, it demonstrated that a tiny positively charged object was at the center of an otherwise nearly empty atom.
Rutherford discovered the nucleus and theorized that electrons were ouside the nucleus with revatively large empty spaces between them.
He and a couple of grad students conducted what is usually referred to as the gold foil experiment. He analyzed the results mathematically based on scattering of electrons (beta particles) which mostly passed thru, but some were drastically deflected bu the nucleus in the gold foil.
1. Fired alpha particles (positivley charged helium nuclei) at a sheet of very thin gold foil (only a few atoms thick).
2. The majority of the alpha particles passed through with little or no deflection. This indicated there was a lot of space in the atom.
3. Some were slightly deflected, which indicated a slight repulsion between the positively charged alpha particle and the nucleus.
4. Very few rebounded back at an angle greater than 90 degrees. This indicated that the atom was made of a positively charged nucleus with greatly concentrated mass, and mainly space, and was orbited by negatively charged electrons

Ernest Rutherford
Rutherford discovered the atomic nucleus and the proton. Rutherford don't discovered the atom. A short answer for the Rutherford atomic model: the atom is composed from a central part - a nucleus, positively charged, surrounded by electrons - very small negative charged particles.

In 1911, Ernest Rutherford discovered the nucleus of the atom. Rutherford was born in New Zealand in 1871 and became known as the father of nuclear physics.
Bohr did not discover this. Ernest Rutherford 'discovered' the nucleus. This was done in 1911.
Rutherfordium was not discovered by Ernest Rutherford.
Ernest Rutherford was the man you are thinking of. He was the first person to 'split the atom'.
Ernest Rutherford is not known for studies in magnetism.

Rutherfordium was named after Rutherford
Yes, the proton discovery is from Ernest Rutherford.
