Well, Tesla changed the way the whole world lives. He invented the alternate current system for producing electrify to the whole world. All wireless units have the base in the Tesla coil. Even bulbs we use today were invented by him. The first things we have to know about bulbs lights is that Edison did not invent those, but only improve them by filling them with copper linings of metals. The second thing is that the Edison patent is outlawed in many countries including the United States and the patent used is the Tesla patent 455,069, dated June 30, 1891. In the Tesla bulbs, the union was better and never had a case of one catching fire like the Edison bulbs. He also made them to allow them to turn on wirelessly. Tesla hypothesized that he could transmit unlimited amounts of power to any place on earth with virtually no loss. The first 'Magnifier' was assembled in New York City between 1895 to 1898. In 1899 a larger magnifier was constructed in Colorado Springs, Colorado with the patent "System of Electric Lighting," U.S. Patent 454,622, 23 June 1891. Tesla spent his remaining funds on his other inventions and culminated his efforts in a major breakthrough in 1899 at Colorado Springs by transmitting 100 million volts of high-frequency electric power wirelessly over a distance of 26 miles at which he lit up a bank of 200 light bulbs and ran one electric motor! With this souped up version of his Tesla coil, Tesla claimed that only 5% of the transmitted energy was lost in the process.

Every time you turn your lights on, you are using a Tesla invention. Every wireless devices and radio are based on the Tesla coil. You see kids playing with radio controlled cars or boats it was his invention also.

Who helped Nikola Tesla invent the radio?

Before the radio, Tesla came out with the coil. The Tesla coil, invented in 1891, is still used in radio and television sets and other electronic equipment. It is the basis on all wireless and communications gadgets that you see today. Tesla never had help with any of his inventions.

Iventions of Nikola Tesla and why it was important at the time?

Nicola Tesla is best known for his dispute with Thomas Edison considering alternate and direct current, respectively. Edison for example tried to prove danger of alternate current by killing the elephant with the help of it but Nicola Tesla was the winner of the dispute.

When did Nikola Tesla meet Thomas Edison?

Nikola Tesla was referred to Edison by a mutual friend. Tesla emigrated to New York and gave a recommendation letter to Edison who hired him to help develop DC power systems. Their partnership did not last long. Instead of working on DC power as Edison challenged him, Tesla chose to improve Faraday's AC power. Edison would not listen to Tesla's arguments for AC power, and Tesla quit. George Westinghouse then bought Tesla's AC patents, and directly challenged Edison in the current wars which Westinhouse eventually won. Ironically, many devices used today are DC (computers, cell phones, LED lights, etc.) as Edison predicted, and converters have to be used to step down from AC back to DC.

What is the war of currents?

In the "War of Currents" era (sometimes, "War of the Currents" or "Battle of Currents") in the late 1880s, George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison became adversaries due to Edison's promotion of direct current (DC) for electric power distribution over alternating current (AC) advocated by Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla. resources: wikipedia

Did Nikola Tesla receive any awards?

I posted a site that c0uld help help you in the related links below. Among the many awards and honors to his credit, Nikola Tesla was the recipient of Edison Medal in 1917. The International Unit of Magnetic Flux Density was named after him and is called "Tesla". A commemorative stamp was taken out by US Postal Services in the year 1983. The Order of Danilo was conferred upon him by King Nikola of Montenegro. To recognize his contributions in the field of electrical engineering, the 'Nikola Tesla' award was instituted in 1976 by the Institute of Electrical Engineers.
