The corkscrew, functions in the manner of the simple machine called a screw. In this specific case, force is applied to the end of the corkscrew through the torsion, or twisting, of the screw. This permits the corkscrew to penetrate into a material, usually cork. Thanks to the helical design of the corkscrew, this then allows for tension to be placed on the corkscrew, in order to retract the cork in its entirety from the neck of a bottle.
Examples of a winding inclined plane machine include screw jacks used to lift heavy loads, certain types of spiral staircases, and corkscrews used to open wine bottles. These machines use a spiral or helical inclined plane to convert rotational motion into linear motion, making it easier to lift or move heavy objects.
The types of mechanical work include static work, dynamic work, and intensive work. Static work refers to work done without motion, dynamic work involves movement, and intensive work focuses on the internal energy changes within a system.
Input work is the work done on a machine, while output work is the work done by the machine. Efficiency of a simple machine is calculated as the ratio of output work to input work. The efficiency of a simple machine is high when the output work is close to the input work, indicating that the machine is converting most of the input work into useful output work.
The formula that relates work and power is: Power = Work / Time. Power is the rate at which work is done, which is the amount of work done divided by the time it takes to do that work.
the work a machine does is the work output what it takes to do the work is the work input

A New York based company Metrokane is the manufacturer of Rabbit corkscrews. Rabbit corkscrews come in different varieties and the price of a pack of rabbit corkscrews range from $35 to $49 (pl see URL- http://www.amazon.com/Metrokane-Rabbit-Corkscrew-Foilcutter-Silver/dp/B00005NPHL for example)

Corkscrews have rack and pinion gears.

Your local liquor store should carry an array of different higher-end corkscrews. If none of these do it for you, look on eBay, Amazon, and Overstock as these sites have many corkscrews for sale as well.
Twist off bottle tops, corkscrews, meat grinders.
Rabbit corkscrews are used for opening wine bottles. The corkscrew is manually screwed into the cork at the top of the wine bottle for a few turns. Once it has gone in an inch or so, the levers or rabbit ears are pressed down. This pulls the cork out of the wine bottle.
Corkscrews are readily available in basic cost effective forms at your local supermarket. If you prefer a fancier corkscrew set you can try your local Tobacco gift stores - they tend to have some great gift sets that include some of the fancier cork screws.
