You can't change a single quantity, only a ratio, into a decibel:

The ratio of powers in dB =

10log10(P/P0)

where P is the measured power and P0 is the reference level for the application.

So if the reference is 1W and the signal is 100W the ratio =

10log10(100/1) = 10 X 2 = 20dB

(For intensities the factor is 20)

How do you convert sone to decibel?

To convert sone to decibel, you can use the formula: Decibels (dB) = 40 log(sone) For example, if the loudness level is 4 sones, the equivalent decibel level would be 40 log(4) ≈ 60 dB.

What is a Decibel power gain?

Generally power is expressed in watts. The gain is the ratio of the output power to the input power. Gain = (output power)/(input power) if the gain is expressed in terms of log(base10) it is known as Decibel power gain Decibel power gain = Log10(Gain)dB if 1milliwatt power is taken as reference then Decibel power gain = Log10(Output power/1 milliwatt)dBm

Why d in small in decibel?

The "d" in decibel represents Alexander Graham Bell, who was an influential scientist in the development of the decibel scale. The decibel scale is used to quantify the intensity of sound or the power level of an electrical signal on a logarithmic scale.

How do you convert signals from voltage levels to their corresponding decibel equivalents and from decibel levels to their corresponding voltage or current levels?

convert signal gains or losses to comparative decible reading.

What is 36 decibel?

'decibel' means power level compared to something else. +36 dB = 3,981 times as much power as whatever it's compared to.

Is Decibel is the unit of power ratio?

It can be the power ratio. If you measure voltage or sound pressure it is not the power ratio.

What does the term decibel mean?

The decibel is a unit used to measure the intensity, or power, of a sound. It is a logarithmic unit that compares the power of a sound to a reference level. The decibel scale is commonly used to quantify sound levels and express changes in sound intensity.

How is sound mesaured?

Sound is measured in decibels. A decibel is 10logPower Out/Power In.

How the power levels are measured in communication system?

A: Dbm or decibel of modulation

How will an increase in amplitude and power affect dB?

The decibel (dB) scale is logarithmic. An increase of power by a factor of 10 is an increase of +10 dB. If power increases by a factor of 100, that is equivalent to +20 dB.The decibel (dB) scale is logarithmic. An increase of power by a factor of 10 is an increase of +10 dB.
